Mobile Christmas in DLP

Hi Dibbers

My husband and I are taking our three year old to DLP in December for four nights mid week. It’s the first time we’ve been. I have done a fair bit of research but wondered if anyone could tell me any Christmas must dos that aren’t there the rest of the year.

Thanks!

The Christmas parade is magical and you can also meet Father Christmas but the queues can be very long even at quiet times.

Hopefully they'll have the Christmas big band show on again in the studios this year as that was one of the best shows DLP has done in recent years.

We loved the Christmas parade (probably more than the normal one! My daughter got loads of high fives from the characters in it, which she loved).
I second Mickey’s Christmas Big Band. And also the tree lighting ceremony.
We didn’t do Disney Santa figuring we can meet him anywhere so spent our time of Disney specifics but he’s meant to be a good one!

Its cold. Very cold so wrap up warm. Closing time will probably be 6pm too so make use of the daylight.

We went on New Year’s Day and the Christmas decorations were really fantastic. The parade was lovely and Santa was on the last float.

We’d prepared for it to be very cold but it was unseasonably mild. I’d suggest plenty of layers, especially if you’re waiting for the parade or fireworks.

As above, adjustable layers are much better than assuming it will be cold. It was very mild when we were there the week before Christmas, so we were often warm enough without coats.

We loved the Christmas parade and the Singalong show in the Studios, Goofy’s Incredible Christmas show at closing in the Studios, Merry Stitchmas on Castle Stage, meeting Santa, the advent calendars (near the castle and in the Disneyland Hotel), the tree lighting ceremony, etc. My youngest loved the Christmas theming on Small World too.

It looks like some of that has changed this year, but there are plenty of similar shows on. There’s more information here:
