She never stood a chance as a well adjusted adult after that awful childhood, no wonder she couldnt stay married or sober poor woman. Broke my heart for her.

Just got back... what a film! Reneé done really well...a couple of times she sounded like Bridget Jones.
What a sad childhood she had, that haunted her all her short life.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I met up with friends yesterday that also saw it last week in Sussex . They thought the same and also said their cinema was silent at the end as the credits rolled - seems to have that effect on everyone .

Renee must be up for an Oscar ?

I want to see it again as missed bits I am sure especially of the Wizzard of Oz scenes - so much was happening and I was blown away to see the yellow brick road again & now in HD !

I saw this in the week. I knew she probably had a tough time but didnt realise how bad, and the film probably didnt portray how much she had to put up with. Wizard of Oz always scared me as a child but i enjoyed watching it. Now if i see it i will just be thinking of how much she suffered with all the pressure and manipulation going on, pills for everything to keep her going/ or sleep like she wasnt a real person. My heart broke for her.

[QUOTE=Juliemack;14111299 It's a bit like me not wanting to tell her that the teddy that she still treasures is not the original one (a whole different story).[/QUOTE]
