Universal express passes - July
We are visiting next July so assuming it's going to be busy. We have APs but want to get express passes. A little confused by the website - if you choose the 2 park option, is that 2 parks in one day? If going over 2 days, I assume 1 park per day is the cheapest option? I can't see any further than December for express pass prices - does anyone know know roughly how much prices are in July?
The other option is 1 night in a hotel and as there are 6 of us, the cheapest room is currently coming up at around £800. But it depends how much July passes cost to buy |

The 2 park option allows access to both parks in the one day.
Cheapest I can find currently (Oct, Nov, Dec) is $89.99pp for the 2 park and $79.99 for the 1 park - going to $189.99pp So I’d probably just work our best and worse case scenario for prices. But if you want 2 days worth it still seems like a hotel stay would be the most cost effective. |

They can go up to around $180pp pre tax for the 2 park unlimited pass. July is a busy time so it’ll be in the higher price bracket, starting around $140pp at an educated guess. You’ll have to add tax on top of that too.
For 6 of you in July it’ll be highly likely the hotel stay will be cheaper, more relaxing and you’ll get 2 days worth of passes! |

I expected that July prices would be at the upper end of the scale. Need to work it all out with tax included. The hotel option does seem cheapest for 2 days, just a bit more hassle I guess to turn up to Portofino very early one morning, get the passes, then drive to the Universal parking garage (for free AP parking). Trying to justify paying £800 for express passes for 2 days!

The hotel stay was for 2 rooms with a few people in each, correct?
Otherwise they may be recommending you a suite or something of that caliber. I can safely say you'll get the use out of the express passes, but as you say it's a big outlay to get to that point.

As far as I was aware it was 5 to a room max at the hotel, so I was wondering if they are selecting a suite for you.
I could be wrong of course, but worth a look.
