We’re near Manchester and I’ve just booked Gatwick to Tampa to get direct flights in budget. I’ve actually ended up with a car for 3 weeks for the same price as we were paying TC for flight only. Try selecting ‘flight and car’ rather than flight only as the prices are slightly different.
VA were out of my price range before today, if I booked my dates with them today I’d have to pick a favourite child to take as I can’t afford all 3!

Use skyscanner to find prices of other airlines like Norwegian
Think about flying to Miami and driving up to Orlando.
I’ve flown indirect into Tampa twice. Once via JFK and the other via PHL
Best of luck

Thanks all - sky scanner and a slight shuffle with dates were the winner. It’s not really a big deal as they haven’t lost anything it’s just a bit of a faff. But they’re retired and are flexible so it’s fine. I really feel for those that have lost their holiday, the kids and of course I’m heartbroken for the company and it’s staff. 💛

I took a gamble on Sunday night and booked us onto a flight with TUI. Same dates out but returning a day earlier.

Also, rebooked the hire car, it worked out cheaper so I upgraded. So huge thanks to Andy at DFCH for sorting that for us 😊

hi all,

I helped my mom and dad get new flights, they were originally on the man to mco on 6.10.19.

They got Gatwick to mco with British Airways same dates but for £400 more in total. They could have paid Norwegian for similar price to original flights but wanted BA. These were booked at about 4 am , they have gone up now but not by too much.

We have just submitted claims to credit card for refunds.

I hope everyone finds new flights that are suitable,

Nicky x

Re-arranged flights for July 2020

I know this is still several months away but we have just been given confirmation of new flights for next July with Virgin Atlantic. Two friends were confirmed 1st, they are staying at our villa and had no extra charges with Charter Travel. We however have been charged an extra £700 (2 adults and 2 children). At the end of the day it is not that bad, I’m just glad it was not a hell of a lot more

We booked at around 3am on Sunday night and paid £920 for two of us with Virgin. This had already gone up by about £200 from 10pm so decided to just book ASAP. Going in November.
