Signed and bumping this thread. As much as the quality of photopass photographers has reduced over the last 10 year, to completely do without them defeats the whole purpose of actually meeting a character for a shared special moment. Some of our greatest photo memories have been taken in the moments leading up to or after the 'actual' posed photo.
Completely misses the true magic    Might be 6 years ago( I have many many more  ) - but the true magic of this photo remains with us all as a family - would never have happened with a soulless smile at the camera shot It is a decision that sums up just how detached the Disney Corp has become from the guest experience and how it makes those special memories that live forever.

Such a shame...just been looking through our Disneyland photos and loving the special ones like when characters are signing autograph books and messing about - you just won't get any of that magic anymore and may well not be worth the investment!
I think Disney are going to loose out on revenue rather than save money with this decision!

I signed it. There’s something about photography that needs a person behind the lens in situations like this. People can see the interaction and click to capture it where a machine can’t.

The FastTrack ride at Epcott already has automated photography booths. They suck. The photos are grainy and dark. Also, real photographers will ward off crazy people who want to butt in to your photos. For some crazy reason, some old lady keeps on jumping in to the middle of my photos. I kept shooing her away but she didn't speak English. It took several tries in several different languages before she got the message and got out of my photo frames. ARgh... !

Are these what they have at the Star Wars meet n greets? If so we got our pics with Chewbacca but they did not come through with kylo ren. The machines outside did not look like they were working.
