It's the best show ever made probably.
The wire is good.
Sopranos may match BB.
Game of Thrones there.
Black Mirror has numerous episodes that get there (last season not as good though).
Boardwalk Empire (well it has Stephen Graham as Al Capone! Makes me laugh as to how they are saying he got the Irishman job because of Line Of Duty, Scorcese put him in Boardwalk Empire as he thought he was one of the World's best actors 10 years ago after casting him in Gangs of New York way before!).

and shane meadows has been using him for a similar amount of time. plus, he was great in "top buzzer"

agree with all of your list apart from GoT... i just cant be bothered with it. ive tried, but i just don't get it!

as well as those, HALT AND CATCH FIRE is also one of the greatest tv shows ever made, and criminally underrated/ignored by many

Interesting thread.

We started watching it but really got stuck part way through season 2. Does it improve beyond this? I really want a reason (or kick up the butt) to restart watching it again.

Yep it improves massively. By the end of season 3 it's beyond brilliant

It's amazing. You haven't got to the really nasty characters coming in or the Mexican cartels or assasins I don't think. The tension is unbelievable. In fact I think you've only just briefly encountered the shady lawyer Saul Goodman and no Mike.
Go back to it and keep watching, I doubt you'll regret it.

yep, i stalled a couple of times... the first time was halfway through season 1, and then again a third of the way into s2. i ended up waiting until s2 had finished airing and s3 was due to start soon before i went back and binged it. after then, it became my favourite show. by the end of S3, it was up to ALL TIME CLASSIC level

speaking of which, i'm almost a full season of better call saul to catch up on!
