VA... Upgrade from Eco Delight to Prem

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered...

Have booked economy seats but waiting on some availability on Premium so I can use some air miles.

If I book and pay for an Economy Delight seat (currently £80 each) and then a premium air miles seats become available do I get my £80 back?

I guess the short of it is, I'm being tight, so do I hang it out and hope for some premium availability or just book the Delight?

Flight is in February.

Thanks
Stevo

I'm fairly certain you won't get your money back.

Yes they will refund you. We had this last year and got the seat booking money refunded when we booked the premium with miles

But it’s not a seat booking fee, you either book an economy classic ticket or and economy delight ticket.

When I asked them that question I was told that the taxes/fees to upgrade to PE using miles was the same whether I had paid for economy or Delight.
I just booked economy then upgraded.

If you upgrade to delight with money it is not refundable but you could upgrade to PE from there. An advantage to delight seat is more miles.
It will also depend on your ticket class and whether seats are available for an upgrade

So yes you can but you have to have paid off your entire balance in order for VA to be able to sort it out for you. I got a great upgrade price with VH (just over £300 total) and so just ended up paying rather than using miles.

I was told differently by VH, that you can just pay the amount of your flights, they will then get VA to ticket the flights and you can arrange your upgrade, she even told me how much the flight portion of the holiday is x
