Pick up a car from sanford on day of arrival for the 7 days for £165 Wont be going to disney just universal Will be getting an annual pass for universal so parking is free after first visit and also no cost to park at our hotel Which would you go for Edited at 03:50 PM. |

If you've got airport transfers & park shuttles at your hotel would you not be cheaper using uber, lyft & I-trolley for anything else?
Transfer by Tui from what i've seen mentioned on here is around 1hr-ish

Yes transfer time from Sanford to I-drive area is around an hour. if you were first off the plane and through security you would get to the hotel quicker driving , but the transfer takes that concern and tolls out of the equation.
if you are only doing universal and around I-drive then using shuttle & uber or lyft is a good option. itrolley is $12 for 7 days per person ( £8 from attraction tickets) |

Thanks for the replies.
I think I may book a car hire tonight from the airport with a cancellation policy. That way I can keep my options open up until 48 hours before I go and lock into a lower price. I think collecting a car from near the hotel would waste to much time on my short holiday.

I wouldn’t bother with a car, we used the itrolly for Shopping, hotel shuttle for Universal and Uber for all other rides, save your money. Don’t forget you have to pay for parking at Universal and some of the Outlets. So your car hire total will be more than you expected.

I definitely go for the car from Sanford.
As you are getting an annual Universal pass there will be no parking charges, your hotel has free parking, so the car just give you complete freedom to come and go as you want, even nipping to the supermarket to get water when you run out in the evening. No worth an UBer both ways for that. Lingers stays and no annual pass? Well I’d maybe UBer then, but not in your case as it is. |
