Do you miss your kids being little?

Obv to those with older kids, mine are 13 and 10. Now and again I miss a few, for example:

- sitting down to watch Cbeebies together
- finger painting, play d'oh
- toddler groups sometimes
- being able to pick them up and carry

But with them being older now I also love:

- being able to watch them in swimming pool if I dont want to go in!
- no tantrums, night waking or screaming
- being able to have more time for myself when they are amusing themselves
- having interesting conversations !

I dont like the constant clubs and running about at this age though, havent hit the moody part yet with ds aged 13 but sure it is on its way ...

yes... It gets so nostalgic thinking about them as babies...

My son now 13 is spotty, hormonal and to be quite frank, Obnoxious
I love him to bits but would gladly give him away free!

As a wee one, he was smiley, inquisitive and just tooooooo cute❤️...

Ooooohhhhh, what happened to my baby? it just passes too quickly

Fee, mine is 13 but no signs of puberty yet, not spotty and not hormonal, I am lucky he is a loving and easy going boy, maybe he will be an ok teen? My 10 yr old daughter might make up for it... !

Ditto ! Mine are both a year younger and I have real pangs where I miss walking through the park with them just looking and pointing and them waiting for a reaction on my face

Mine are 10,4,3,2 next month and 7mths.

I get sad already seeing how fast they grow up, having only our son for along time he was our little buddy, now he's getting so big and is such a credit to himself but I do miss my little mate.

Mine are 10 and 15 and I do miss baby snuggles etc.

However we can do so much more as a family that doesn't involve buggies, changing bags, toddler tantrums. Instead we have moody grumpy teens lol.

It's funny this thread came up as just lately DH has said he is really missing the boys being little and doing all the stuff that we used to do as a family and he is struggling with them getting older they are 20 & 16. I actually missed taking DS2 into the shops after the rides at Disney as when he was little he used to mither us after every visit to any attraction to go to the shops to see what there was to buy and when we went last time I used to ask (out of habit) if he wanted to look in the shops to see if there was anything and I was so disappointed when he said no thanks.

Don't worry you will get the chance to do it all again when your grandkids eventually come along.

I really don't!

I adore this stage in mine and dhs life-

The kids still amuse us, but in different ways.

It's wonderful watching them grow and learn and develop into amazing adults.
