The Diamond Celebration - Disneyland's 60th Celebration Trip Day 4

Tuesday Day 4:

Tuesday we spent at Knotts Berry Farm. We had visited this park before on a previous trip, but i had fond memories of it and its nice to break the Disney up during the trip.
We grabbed breakfast from Starbucks which was in the Hotel lobby - it was pricey, but was a quick grab meal before getting the bus to Knotts Berry Farm which was going to conveniently pick us up outside our hotel.
We got tickets for the park in the uk for £27 which were a bargain (compared to Disney anyways). It was around a 20 min bus trip, and we paid $5 for an all day ticket to use on the ART (Anaheim Resort transit). There was us and one other person on the bus on both trips. It was interesting to see in and around the resort area, and I saw some old favourites during the trip - ‘Dollar Tree’ anyone?!
The park was so quiet, no queues for anything and it was really nice to walk around, especially as the sun was blazing. They used to call themselves Americas’s ‘first’ theme park, and some areas of the park would back this up!
We had a nice relaxed day, rode the coasters, the train and had a nice walk around. They had a full show schedule running despite it being a very quiet day which i was impressed with - you wouldn’t get that at UK theme parks!

Before leaving we spent some time in the ‘Knotts Marketplace’ which was a very interesting assortment of shops and boutiques just outside the park, which look quite old I have to say. I got some boysenberry jam and cookies and we saw some weird shops selling trinkets and christmas villages. I really like this place, it has a nice feel about it and feels quite genuine.

For those of you who are wondering, the Boysenberry is a unique berry which was first created and grown at the Knotts Berry Farm, a mix of raspberry, blackberry, dewberry and a loganberry, and it is still sold in jams and pies to this day.

We headed back to the hotel on the ‘ART’ and had a rest in the room until around 7pm when we headed to Cheesecake Factory which was about a 10 minute walk from our Hotel. I had a really nice omelette and cookie dough cheesecake which was divine! Our server was super nice, unfortunately despite us leaving a 20% tip, she muddled the credit card receipts (even though we wrote correct amounts on them) and she didn't take the tip - only the value of the meal which we only realised when we got our credit card statements! We have since contacted the restaurant to try and pay, we are waiting on a response!

Love knottsberry,we had great day there in 2013. Some good rides and the xcellerator is scary! Can't believe you didn't go for the famous fried chicken dinner located in the marketplace area outside the park. Huge homecooked authentic fried chicken. We had so much left we gave it to our taxi driver on our way back to Anaheim,he was chuffed!

Sadly the chicken restaurant was closed for refurbishment! We did enjoy the BBQ in ghost town though, and there was singing and entertainment too which was a nice touch!
