NHS Spitfire flypast 16th September

If the weather is kind and you live in the north of England or southern Scotland you might be lucky enough to see the Spirtifre with the NHS logo do its fly-past today. It leaves Duxford at 10am this morning heading to Manchester - here's a link with timings for its route and happy plane spotting.

Edited to add - for those of you around Teesside it lands at MME at 1120 and takes off again at 1400.

Weather here on Teesside is not so good this morning, low clouds. I’m lucky that I live on the path from the airport to the Hospital so expecting a great view. Everyday almost , the Air Ambulance comes directly over the house, hoping today is no exception. What an honour to see it.

Expect Yarm, Eaglescliffe to be extra busy with plane spotters. Trust the blumming low clouds today 🙄🙄

I’ll be up Eston Nab from 1230-1430 so will keep my eyes peeled. As SF46 says the weather today is very different to the last two days ... a lot cooler and low cloud ... I’ll be listening for the distinct sound of that delightful Merlin engine.

Looks like a possibility we on Teesside won’t be having the pleasure today. Just read on Teesside airport movement page that it’s turned back to base due to bad weather , it’s almost back in Duxford

I suppose we can all meet at the spitfire pub in Thornaby to go and see the Spitfire plane parked on the roundabout there? 😁
