Alcohol, clearwater beach

Hi

Just wondered if we spend the day on the beach, can we take a cool box with some beers in? Can we drink alcohol on the beach?

It's a complicated picture that changes beach by beach. Here's the latest info I could find: tampabay/things-to-d...r-day/2335865/

Basically, most public beaches do NOT allow alcohol, but there are a couple of exceptions.

Lots of great bars around the beach and one tiki hut on the beach at the Hilton.
I’m sure there is some signage stating no alcohol.

We were there a few years ago and there was a American family with beer in Clearwater beach a policeman on a trike came from no where onto the beach and gave them an almighty telling off and told them they risked a fine etc and they had to put it away .

we had a cool bag with some beer/pop in & before i had even opened one a life guard came over to tell me to hide it away in case the police spotted it

he was a nice fella we had a good chat about football (as in the PL not egg chasing in helmets) & Newcastle Brown

Not sure if it’s the same as St Petes or not. There you are not allowed to take alcohol on the beach. However, the Grand Plaza has a licence so they can serve you at your cabana there.

We took ours down in a cool cup/beaker and discreetly refilled it. Only 2 or 3 beers though
