I know that if you order alcoholic drinks then the server will tip the barman, as he is also in a tipped position but is not actually getting paid for the drink. It's normal in busy places to have one barman dedicated to just making the drinks for the restaurant and he is on a tipped wage The CM will tip him at the end of the shift, some restaurants do differ, however. The Rose and Crown Bar people do get tips from the servers.
Servers always have been the best paid at WDW, even when I was there 20 years or so ago there were Barmen in P.I earning 2-300 a night. We were in the Italian in the Swan in December sitting at the Bar and 2 Bartenders were moaning how quiet it was and one said I 'Only earned $200 in tips last night' - That's a bad night! The bussers etc- it's down to the server, these are not tipped positions, some to tip to get the tables turned over quicker. At $15 an hour for unskilled labour, I won't be tipping the housekeeping now. I have seen zero difference between leaving and not leaving a tip and they seem to come later and later in the day - 5pm was the norm last trip and even then they never left enouth supplies. I seem to remember the tipping thing started when the maids did those towel animals, I have not seen those in a long while now.

I know the wife says no, but you are basically rewarding poor performance so you should reconsider the tip.
In a non tipped position you are supposed to be rewarding service that goes above the Norm, If you are getting poor service, and it seems 75% of Housekeeping these days fail to do the basics, then they should not be rewarded.

I only tip dvc mouse Keeping on the checkout day when our bins are overflowing with empty shoe boxes unwanted packaging and shopping bags it’s usually quite a bit for them to have to dispose of, I empty out all my change from the two week holiday and leave it for them to save me carrying it home it usually amounts to $5 😂

We are definitely not going to be tipping because of everything thats already been said however I keep telling my husband the best way to an easy life is to just agree so I would probably advise its not worth it and to listen to your wife :-) :-)

Agree with MrT on the pooling of tips in Disney restaurants
Our neighbors at the villa he works in a signature his lovely wife doesn’t work they have full health benefits etc Both have good degrees but are better off with him working for Disney The health cover is a big big bonus Yes he works long hours holidays etc but he earns more than both of them working because of tips and benifits Other service industry workers are not so lucky |

It’s crazy when you think about what those restaurant workers are earning. I remember a Reddit Q and A where a doctor replied to the server saying he wished he earnt as much. Even the server said it was crazy.
