Which East Coast beach for a day trip?

Hi,

We are staying in Kissimmee and have a hire car, and we plan to do a beach day. We'd like the East Coast so we have some waves, and we want an area where there's plenty of parking (we visited Clearwater for a day last time and struggled to park) with restaurants etc.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Anyone? I'm thinking Daytona, as at least it has plenty of parking and is commercalised so lots of choice for eating and drinking.

Make sure you check high tide times, been caught out before as beach is closed to cars

Depends what sort of beach you are looking for & if you have kids with you. Cocoa beach is great especially for the waves & watching the surfing- but very commercial. Huge Ron Jon’s store & dinosaur shop too. We love Spessard Holland beach - not much further south where there are several smaller beaches on the strip. Quieter beach plenty of parking & has decent toilet/shower blocks & good place to buy food & driinks.

Cocoa beach has fairly consistent surf. You can check the cocoa beach pier webcam before you go so you don’t go on a flat day. For better quality waves head down to Sebastian inlet but if you just want to mess around with the kids, you can’t go wrong at cocoa beach.

Again love Cocoa Beach, we prefer the east coast to the gulf coast. Had a fabulous day there last October!

we had a surf lesson via Ron Jons on Cocoa beach, great fun very tiring but a good laugh

a bit of tuition on the beach then into the surf so plenty of action (ie/ falling in ...)

also parking all day there (as in Ron Jons) plenty of eats etc walkable

We’ve stayed at cocoa beach a couple of times, it’s a great place for a splash in the sea. As above it has waves ! and is more refreshing than the gulf side. Love the food on the pier the fries are really good. Also longdoggers is tasty and really reasonable.
