Mobile Hot or cold water?

When cleaning your teeth do you use hot or cold water?

I use hot, DH uses cold.
Caused a long debate in our house with both of insisting we’re right 😂

I wouldn’t want hot water in my mouth after it’s been through the boiler

I put the paste on a dry brush, then put a bit of cold water on the top... i suppose because you use water to lather soap... i will try without, saves water too. But i hasten to add i dont brush with the tap running

I always got told that you shouldn’t put the hot water in your mouth from any taps in the house. Same as your not supposed to put it in your kettle or in a pan for pasta/veg etc. There’s something in the hot water that’s bad that’s not in the cold. Sure it’s something to do with the boiler but I’m not sure what.

I have never heard of anyone using hot water to brush their teeth! Every days a school day on the Dibb! 😂

It relates to the water tank in the loft - a lot of hot water feeds are now from the mains supply. But when it was from the water tank in the loft feeding the boiler heaven knows what got in there - quite apart from old tanks having lead lining and solder...

I’ve always been told this too. Something to do with hot and cold water coming from different sources. Ie: cold from the mains and hot from the hot water tank that’s been there a while?

Its something my grandpa used to say. He used to build houses and do the plumbing. He also would only drink the cold water out of the kitchen tap!

I’m not sure whether any of that matters these days though?
