I used to work Tesco checkouts so can totally relate 😂 It was the same 20 years ago. Very funny, made me laugh

I try not to use self service checkouts either, as I feel they are losing people their jobs

Me neither, even more so as supermarket staff myself, but some folks have social anxiety and I imagine it helps them.

I can imagine it gets really boring. To be honest I wish the check out staff would stop the disingenuous asking of 'how are you'..only last week one asked me and I don't think they heard a single word of the next 15 minutes of me telling them with rude customers behind me moaning of the delay in being served. Mind you it held me back as I'd only gone in for one thing too

I rarely ask that unless they’re a regular who I know. Usually I’m just friendly and chatty. It varies. But yeah if there’s a queue? Friendly and efficient

SW braised steak with root veg 🤢🤮
SW chicken curry (still looking for the chicken)
Box of mini Vienna’s (ate 2 on the way home - that why I need SW)
Box of Majestics
Gin and tonic pops (they were reduced presumably because the gin had evaporated)
Warburton’s tiger loaf
Aunt Bessie’s golden Yorkshire puddings
