Vaccine on Thursday... Spain updated first posted

Despite the EUs slow roll out, my husband gets his vaccine on Thursday. My region is as of April 1st starts a massive roll out .. regardless of some EU leaders... I'm in the next group. There's hope we will all be done by July

First time I'm feeling confident re covid and the recovery. I don't think I'll see my daughter here in June as planned ... but I'm confident by late August September they should both get here


Husband had AZ YESTERDAY apart from a sore arm no issues. He was one of over 1000 people in my communidad to get AZ yesterday. My region is using AZ for key workers and mass vaccination of 60- 65yr olds therefore not wasting any. Can I also add. Don't be fooled by negative press, people here are as desperate for ANY vaccine they can get, despite Van Der Leyden and macrons best efforts. We are not in the same lockdown as before , shops and bars are open , social distancing is still valid and masks must be earn she'd 6 and over wherever you are.. but I see light at the end of the tunnel for us here in Spain , yes we have problems but nothing like France who appear to be going backwards. I've posted here as I don't belong to the Covid forum but wanted to portray hope to those of you waiting to travel we may be in the EU but we are not the EU we are an independent country desperate ,lke you, to get on with our lives Viva España , LOL

Also this is being replicated in other regions with more and more people now getting "the" call

The vaccination programme is really getting a head of steam now. You’ll also be pleased to hear that the Spanish government are recommending that masks will NOT have to be worn on the beach, as announced last week.
Spain looks forward to seeing you and others soon, so many coastal towns are sadly devastated by the lack of tourism

We are really looking forward to going back to Spain! Well Fuerteventura is where we are booked to go to! Can’t wait to put some much needed cash to the businesses there. I know the tourism has been hit really badly 😕
