I wonder how long it will take Disney to follow Universal…

I think that'a a myth - I can find no reliable source that can corroborate that.

Yes, Disney and the unions did agree on face coverings in order for them to return to work and re-open, but there doesn't seem to be a timeline on that.

Additionally, the same unions that represent most WDW workers, also represent Universal workers.

And, because I'm lazy and it's late, it's massively in the interests of the unions for there to be more guests as this means more workers and that happens without face coverings:
Going forward, the unions could theoretically push for a mask rule even after the company is ready to relax or eliminate it.

We see this as highly unlikely.

For one, the unions have very little leverage at present given unemployment numbers in Central Florida.

For another thing, Disney’s and the unions’ interests align here. Relaxing health safety protocol means more people in the parks, which means more Cast Members returning to work. If that can happen in a low-risk way, the unions will almost certainly agree to it.

To add, Bob Chapek after the Disney earnings call this week, speaking about the CDC change of rules on masks: “There will be a lot more comfortable people this summer in Orlando.”

It is not a myth, however it can change as they have just re-negotiated the temperature check part to allow that to be dropped.

The agreement is with the Equity Union.

I heard this before- I’m oblivious to American workers law - do Disney employees have their own union? If so I wonder why US don’t have the same?
