London trip July

I was lucky enough to get 3 night deal in park plaza county hotel next month. ( fri- mon)
We have been to London 6/7 times but not in summer
Have done HOHO bus twice so seen most of the big landmarks.
Done imperial War museum and London eye.
Any must sees you recommend?

We are a young at heart couple in early 50s, we like nice food and drinks but prefer day drinking /eating .

We have Balans booked for DH lunch on Sunday ( as recommended on here)
As the restrictions will prob still be in place , I’m thinking we should book restaurants/ bars for the other 2 days?
Kinda ruins the spontaneity of things but hey ho.

DH would like to visit Camden .
Look forward to hearing suggestions

Camden is lovely, and a walk down the canals is nice when it is warm. Hyde park is another lovely area to walk around and just take it in. It does sound like some shows may be open if you like that kind of thing?
No matter what you do I'm sure you'll have a lovely time and enjoy the change of scenery.

There are some lovely rooftop bars & restaurants popped up all over London which all require booking! We tried out The Standard Hotel near Kings Cross last weekend which was lovely for an early evening cocktail.
We had a very early dinner (4.45) at The Ivy Chelsea Garden who have a really gorgeous & huge courtyard. Food, cocktails & service were excellent and highly recommended.

Borough market and it’ll only be a walk down the south bank from where you are, lovely choice of food and drinks.

And I think it’s now opening on sundays.

We stayed at the Park Plaza County Hall during half-term. I posted a few tips here: https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...1&postcount=33

The area immediately to the east along South Bank is great - loads of food and drink stalls, trucks and the like and great to mooch and people watch.

Eataly opened in London recently. We didn't make it there, but I've been to the one in New York and it's great. I'd be checking that out >>> eataly

I think you'll be OK without bookings, or without some bookings - we stopped at places we fancied whilst mooching around. Some places might be full or you may have a short wait, but I think spontaneity can still happen.

We did this - londonwithalocal/harrypottertour - but there are plenty of other tours for other interests and it was really, really good. My son is very into Harry Potter, with me less so, but I also enjoyed it a lot. The guide, Ben, had that knack of appealing to both the kids and adults alike.

All their tours are free, but tips are appreciated. I tipped £50, for the five of us, which typing this feels like I may have been tight as I would have paid more than £10 each for a 2-hour tour.

Not sure what’s open and what’s not at the moment, but the Tower of London was a fantastic visit.

We also enjoyed just walking around the parks, mainly Hyde park and st James’

Kensington Palace is worth a visit - they usually have exhibitions on (royal dresses etc), and the Tower of London is you haven't been. We enjoy the V&A, and the South Bank for 'grazing' at the food stalls in Borough market. Churchill's War Rooms are really good. The Emirates air line cable cars across the Thames along at Greenwich are good too.
