M6 Hotels

Hello,

We’re driving from Northern Scotland to Kent in a few weeks time. Google maps seems to suggest the M6 and I’m therefore looking for a hotel that allows pets (small dog) somewhere in the Manchester area. I was thinking about the Warrington Gemini Travelodge but just wondered if anyone local / done the route before had a better suggestion? Just looking for somewhere convenient and easy as we’ll be arriving about 10pm and leaving at 7am the next morning.

Thank you

Gemini is a bit of a detour from the M6. You would have to come off and go down the M62 or through Warrington
There is an Ibis hotel at Lymm services which will probably be better for you.
Never been in so can’t comment on the hotel but the location is definitely better

Not done that journey but know Gemini well. My boss used to use that hotel lots. It's convenient and near the motorway.

Another good location is the Premier Inn on the M6 but I'm not sure in pets.

This is the place you want. Outstanding services with a hotel attached - totally dog friendly throughout. Highly recommended.

I drive past that hotel everyday, I actually live not too far from that area.

Personally speaking, I’d say you’d be fine there. The Indian next door is really good if you arrive a little earlier and need some food, but there’s also a subway and a Starbucks, and then there’s a McDonald’s just up the road by the IKEA (there’s an M&S over there too).

It’s a safe and generally quiet spot though and very close to the m62 for getting back on.

Thank you - unfortunately Premier Inn don’t allow dogs or that would have been my preference!

Ah, shame. We used it a lot in the run up to our move to Scotland. I always said I’d be prepared to stay there for a holiday, it’s so nice!

Was going to say the same thing. There is a pub at the services if you arrive a bit earlier, J20.

Tebay services is 90 mins north so really depends if you want to drive that far.
