The tube journey seems much longer. Does it stop at all of the stations?
Yes it does stop at every station and I will say it is a bit tedious, however the overall journey time between the 2 main options is minimal.

Take a look at the TFL Journey planner It might only show 1 option but if you click later journeys it will show you both options.

I must be honest - I’m a lazy moo and I wouldn’t be getting the Paddington express if I can get a tube all the way to where I want to go! It IS a long journey but it’s doable.

The Heathrow express says 24mins

Tube to Piccadilly Circus is 57mins

Using the planner.

How long would the walk from Paddington to carnaby street be approx?

Google says 40 minutes but my feet would say probably around an hour!

The planner has a walking option, as Florida fan says 30/40/60 mins for fast/moderate/slow walk.

Thank you again.

We are put off the tube because of all the stops.

But understand what you are saying about Paddington being way out.

Don’t be put off, it is so much easier. The tube will be really quiet at Heathrow so lots of space. Just sit down, relax, have a half hour snooze and you’ll be there. Done it loads of times. Much easier than having to negotiate Paddington.

Thanks again.

Is Paddington station difficult to navigate?

I can’t say thank you enough for all of the help.

I don’t think the station is difficult to navigate it’s just that bit further than you might be prepared for. However if you enjoy walking then try it. I can tell you don’t like the idea of being on the tube for a long time but it’s not all underground if that is putting you off. It’s an easy decision for me because as I said I’m a lazy moo!

You have read me very well. I’m a very anxious person and the thought of no way out for a long period of time is difficult for me to get my head around.

That’s why I thought I would take the fast train and walk. If I’m walking, I’m more in control if that makes sense.

In all honesty I think I’m a little frightened of being in Central London. I keep telling myself I didn’t think twice about NYC so why worry now?!
