chicken nuggets, fries, tater tots etc - any stuff covered in batter or breadcrumbs taken out of the freezer and fried or baked from frozen - many refined carbs, little nutritional value.

I had to google it too -

Beige food means a diet high in refined carbohydrates and low in fruit and vegetables. Typically it includes carbs like white bread, potatoes, pasta and white rice.

Some of it in Florida restaurants is freshly cooked. It is the batter and frying that makes it "beige food" to me. Or fries being the main or only side.

To me it's that fried everything look. Very little flair with sauces, sides, veg, presentation in general.

I didn't even know it was a 'thing', it's just how I view some food places.
