Eurostar no longer stopping at Ebbsfleet or Ashford

Received an email stating the above. The email says it was a difficult decision but with interest in international travel at an all time low it’s been necessary. This will be until 2022 at the earliest.

Can understand the decision, it’s a shame though as such an easy journey rather than going into London.

For us with my reduced mobility getting another train to and from St Pancreas is not an option and it adds another £100 each too! Now looking at driving to DLP and Bruges instead Eurostar was getting worse anyway so it's a good reason to try something new eh?

It's written off Eurostar for us too as no way we'd pay prices to park in London and stay in a hotel there the night before. It's a shame as we said that going from Ashford was brilliant, but like you say it encourages us to try something different - Eurotunnel when we're allowed to go again.

i dont understand why they have made this decision - let's get all our passengers into one crowded area in a city where they will have to travel on public transport!

would be better to stop the service from St Pancreas

Yeah... on the phone they told us it was because they couldn't social distance at Ashford and Ebsfleet (ridiculous having been to all 3 stations and St P is the worst! ) and yet on the email it was because of low travel demand...We'd have to go from St P and yet they are cancelling services to DLP from there? But STILL focusing on Amsterdam... They've lost us as passengers and I've been using them for over 20 years and hubby gets the TfL discount, savings are not worth the extra cost and hassles - we'll fly to Belgium and use the Euro Tunnel for DLP

Don't think so - it was decided not to open it a couple of months ago - confirmed in the email a week or so ago...and doesn't explain why they're not opening Ashford up...cost cutting and they will lose even more business because of it I fear!
