End date for 50%?

Has there been any mention of an end date for the 50% borrow rule?

Just booked for next summer (bit of a gamble, but the fligths were cheap enough to make it worth my while).

The 50% is the difference between a 1 bed and a studio for 2 weeks, and while we can manage a studio, I'd be much happier with a one bed...

we are in a similar position - we have reward flights for next August but 3 days worth of points short so contemplating what to do! it would be lovely if they ended the 50% rule before then

Not seen anything-it may depend on how long it takes to get back to some level of normality as if they can’t increase capacity then there will be millions of points sloshing around the system until confidence in travel returns and restrictions are lifted. We have taken a chance and book for Sept but only feeling 50/50 on if we will get or not.

We are the same. Felt quite confident and booked for August. Now feeling maybe it won’t come off. But really need a bit of hope right now.

We are in the same position as you. Flights booked and studio booked so we know we have somewhere to stay but would prefer a larger room as we r there for 14 + nights

I'm still planning 2022 with the 50% rule in place, it's a pain and the maths is making my head hurt trying to plan 2 trips with 3 years worth of points across 5 contracts!

I miss normality.

Fingers crossed this extra complication goes away soon, I'd guess it'll be here throughout '21 though

I am planning our April 2022 trip assuming the 50% borrowing restriction will still be in place. It's going to be a bit chop and change but I'm planning 3 nights RPR, 6 nights BCV and 5 nights BLT.

Who knows what normality will look like by then, but I am hopeful

Lovely trip you've got planned there Mary

We're focussing on Jan '22 for our trip with friends that got cancelled (for our 50th birthdays, we'll all be drawing our pensions by the time we get to go on it ), splashing out on a cabin at Wilderness Lodge as we have so many points unused, but DH and I are also thinking of doing a couple of weeks next October, I won't be booking flights until we're the other side of winter though.

I have already booked our flights through VH. Today is the day we should have been flying for this year's family trip which was to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary next month

Those cabins look amazing you will have a brilliant time. The celebrations will be all the more special for having to wait. Also I think there is something rather decadent about escaping the doom and gloom after Christmas xx

Rightly or wrongly I assumed that the whole of 2021 as that "fits" their reason for stopping full borrowing. Our May holiday is already booked & resulted in 10 nights at Uni to keep us under the 50%, 11 nights at SSR. Common sense (I know we are talking DVD!) would make you think that 2022 would be fine, especially as it doesn't affect Banking- so if it was still in place then we would miss '22 & use 2 years worth in '23. I also think that they create a problem as a few of the US owners that I've spoken too, bought based on borrowing & bought the bare minimum, so without it can't go. Nothing mentioned about it on DVC Vlog on Dis, when they were talking about what membership really entitles you to.
