TV wall Mount
I recently moved house and the previous owner left a wall mount for a TV.
I need to buy a TV to go up but how do I know whether or not the TV will fit the mount? I guess most people buy a mount to fit their TV, not the other way round! Thank you. Edited at 11:22 PM. |

They use a standard called Vesa.
There are then holes at set spaces for different sized TV's and most wall mounts have multiple sizes. Search for Vesa and you will see the.measurements. just measure where the holes are on the one you have and you can then check the TV covers that size. |

Honestly I wouldn't ever buy a TV to fit a mount, I'd get the TV spec I wanted and then get a new mount and just replace the old one.
However if you really want to get a TV that fits then most if not all TVs have a standard vesa mount so just measure the distance between the holes on the mount and then look on TV websites to find the info about what vesa size each model has.

aye, its probably a vesa mount... just be wary that its not a mount thats (for example) been certified for a 32" tv and youre sticking a 65" on on it!
i've got the old version of this on my wall, its sturdy as hell amazon/Invision%C2...nguag e=en_GB |

You will find that they are not made perfect, so get a bracket that you can adjust the angle to straighten the tv, there is nothing worse than a sloping tv.

Vesa is the standard and so most Tv's should fit, but please ensure the Bracket is deisgned for your size. The sizes maybe on the bracket ,if not then maybe contact the seller to ask them , or play safe and replace it.

Thanks for all your responses. I'll need to take a closer look at the mount, I really didn't know where to start!
