Oh he is beautiful. We had cats when I was a kid and ds has been asking for a cat for while and now they are a bit older I think we may look at getting a 1-2 year old. Would love a kitten but think we are better off with one a bit older.
Update with some pictures once he is home. |

I love Jude - have asked my kids if they ever have a boy if they would consider calling him Jude😀 they all insist they aren’t having any kids though 😀

He’s so cute, I’d love a cat. We moved into our house 3 years ago and have spent the whole time looking into it but we have never committed.
We live too near a main road so none of the charities will allow us to adopt sadly so we are now looking for a house kitten. It’s so hard to know where to start looking, we’ve had a look on a few websites but not really seen anything that seems right so far. |

Well, we’re still waiting to hear from the rescue centre about a date to get him. It will be 3 weeks on Friday since we reserved him and i am starting to get very impatient now! Plus the kids now don’t believe it’s actually happening.
Does anyone have any idea how these things work? I know they’re busy and said 3-4 weeks and I don’t want to bother them again chasing it up but I’d just like to know where we are in the queue so we can prepare. Also, this is going to sound horrible, but I don’t want him to be too big when we get him. We wanted a kitten and worried by the time he comes he will be a cat and we will have missed the lovely kitten phase! |

I think ideally they need to be around 12/13 weeks when you get them so they would probably give him to you at around that mark?
They can go at 8 weeks onwards, but it’s important for socialising that they stay with the littler until around 12/13 weeks so that they can develop all their social skills and then they’ll be properly independent. Is he in a littler with mum at the moment? Because they might be waiting for that time period if he is. I know how hard it is, we have just recently reserved a British short hair kitten (we aren’t allowed to adopt because we live near a main road and even though we intend to keep our cat as a house cat, it was still a no to adoption) and we are so excited to meet him and take him home, but we need to wait until he is 13 weeks which is fine with us as I want to do whatever is best for him. He will still be kitten sized when you get him, don’t worry! |

I would give them a ring, I think ours were about two -three weeks from expression of interest , to visit, to pick up that was a normal timeline for the rescue centre we used a few years ago
* edited to add - Ours were full grown cats |

Thank you, it’s reassuring he will still be kitten sized! We’re off work this week would have been ideal to get him but chest ka vie!
He is with one sibling at the moment, mum was feral so not around anymore. I guess they will want to rehome the siblings at the age time so they don’t get lonely. Next week I will be busy at work again and not thinking about it as much! |

Yeah they’re still quite kitten like, just a bit bigger! Our cat is a medium to large to breed and we’ve picked a chunky one so I imagine he will be a big boy when we get him, but not too big!
It’s so exciting isn’t it, it’s all I think about, I’ve spent hours researching everything online, bought a few books ect... I think I am just a little bit obsessed! |
