Lovely story ❤️Xx

Loving this thread.

On New Year’s Eve when I was 25 I said to my friend “I’m determined to meet the man I’m going to marry this year”.

A month later a house mate dragged me to a dive of a club in York (it’s now a strip club- wasn’t then!) I really didn’t want to go, she promptly left me to flirt with the bar man. I was furious but then this man started chatting- I was in such a bad mood I was really off with him- made him work hard and in the end I promised to meet him for a drink the next night. Think we saw each other every night for a week and within a fortnight I’d moved in with him.

We got married 5 years later when our twins were 6 months old. Now been together 22 years, married for 17.

Many congratulations on your 40th. Still 13 behind us though

It was the Lord Nelson in Walmgate that I referred to earlier. Not a right classy place but wasn't a strip club - well not back in 1964 anyway

Wasn't the one where I met my man though, it was almost across from the Old Smiddy.
