Just back from a week in the Lake District a trip I was not looking forward too.
Not the trip planned to Disney this year as this was cancelled we booked a week in the Lake District and I was not looking forward to it just felt flat but as I lose my job at the end of August was not really in the mood.
It was just what I needed quite, good weather really lucky as its been warm and sunny, plenty of walking, we only had one meal out in Village pub which was nice, stayed in a lovely cottage in the Village of Ings a couple of miles from Windermere only went there once that was enough for me too many people. Found some lovely quiet places to visit and walk around, brought way too much fudge from a lovely little shop by Lake Coniston. Sadly back home but have booked another week next year in the same village of Ings just a different cottage next year Molly the dog is coming with us as everywhere was so dog friendly from pubs, cafes, this trip we sat and dog watched instead of people watched. Now back home and try and find another job which is not going to be easy. |

Sometimes, it's just a change of scene we need, and it can really help.
The Lake District is a beautiful place to visit. Good luck with the job hunt - hopefully you're feeling refreshed enough to get stuck in with vigour. |

We too should have been in Florida right now; already have had another 2 earlier US trips cancelled & certain that our Florida Christmas trip will be cancelled.
We’re currently almost at the end of a 3 week UK road trip; Lincoln, N Yorks, Durham, Northumberland, Edinburgh, Dundee, East Coast of Scotland, Highlands, West Coast of Scotland, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales & Peak District. Some stunning places (West Coast of Scotland; just wow!) that we wouldn’t have seen had covid not scuppeed our foreign travel. However, I agree with you; the Lakes were rammed; the most crowded place on all our travels. PS, good luck. Edited at 10:34 PM. |
