Family Fun in the Sun - Day 32

Day 32 – Rest Day Tuesday August 18th 2009

Today was supposed to be a rest day but we had always fancied visiting a winery and so decided to go to Lakeland Winery on the US27, we left around lunch time and stopped off en route to get Subway.

The tour of the winery was quite interesting, it started with a 15 minute video about the history of the company and then we saw the vats the wine is kept in and the bottling station, I did expect to see a little more than we did to be honest but it was still a nice afternoon out. We then did some wine tasting and purchased a couple of bottles of a nice red wine we had tried, it didn’t last long though as I drank it that evening.

We then headed off for home and decided to stop of at Logans for dinner. Although the meal was nice it wasn’t as nice as other meals we had eaten there, they over cooked all of our steaks which spoilt it a little. Scott had a sirloin and ribs with coleslaw and Jacket potato, I had a sirloin and shrimp with sautéed mushrooms and a jacket potato, Hannah and Lauren shared off the adults 2 for $13.99 adults menu,Hannah had steak and Jacket potato with broccoli, Lauren had steak and fries with ceasar salad and Jess had sirloin tips and fries, we finished off the meal with the 3 little bucket desserts, these were delicious but I think the girls were more impressed that they got to keep the buckets, the total bill including 2 cokes, 1 beer and 2 wines was $90 with tip, which was quite expensive considering we weren’t too keen on the meal.

When we got home the girls watched an hour of Disney Channel and Scott and I watched some more Bones and NCIS.
