Amtico Click Flooring

I’ve moved into a new house, and we need to replace the carpet in the bedroom toot sweet - primarily because of my asthma but also so we can get the wardrobes up and not worry about moving them in the future.

We got a quote for Amtico LVT through the house and it was eye watering, about £115 per sq/m. We’d like to get it in the hallway and livings rooms, but the cost seems unnecessary for the bedrooms.

I was thinking about the Amtico click vinyl for the bedrooms. It’s a lot cheaper and we can install it ourselves. Does anyone have it? What’s your feedback?

I don’t know about click flooring, but we’ve just had the Amtico signature (Fumed Oak) in the living room and dining room. We love it, it has such a lovely feel to it. With this, the guarantee isn’t valid unless installed by a Floor laying specialist.
The signature has a lifetime guarantee, its pretty much indestructible and now we have it down we are considering it for all rooms!

We have just had Karndean Palio Click laid in our bathroom. There are 2 types, I believe, and we had the dearer version which didn't need the floor to be perfectly flat. The guy who laid it said it's brilliant; he's laid a few floors with it.

It’s the signature which I want to put in the hall and living areas, in Wild Walnut. I’m glad to hear you’re pleased with yours. We will get the installer who has quoted us to do that in due course, but it’s £1700+ just for the bedroom, which I think is too much, so looking for a cheaper option which we can lay ourselves. It’s not a high traffic area so not worried about the warranty just for a bedroom

Just a comment from experience. We renovated a whole house and sometimes went with an option because it was cheaper rather than what we really wanted. In each instance we went back and then redid what we wanted to it cost more in the long run. Really think about whether you’ll be happy with the cheaper option or whether it’s better to delay other things so you can afford what you want.

Take a look at Eternity Commercial LVT. It's a fraction of the price of the more well known brands and is lovely. We have it in our kitchen diner and are so pleased with it.

Thanks, I hear what you're saying but I cant afford to delay things as my breathing is terrible at night. I know from experience in our previous house that I will be much better as soon as we get rid of the carpet.

I'm not bothered about having the Amtico signature stuff in the bedroom, as we just sleep in there. We had q quote done for the whole house as the company said we might as well, and we could pick and choose what to do if we didn't want to do everything.

We put Karnden Loose Lay in the en-suite. So easy to lay and as the pipes go across the floor easy to lift if necessary. We have normal Karndean in the kitchen and it has lasted a good 20 odd years and was a fraction of the price of Amtico.

We have Amtico spacia in our bedroom-not sure if that’s any cheaper than signature range? We had to have a sub floor built in bedroom and then flooring on top so that pushed the price up a bit. We paid about £1,000 two years ago
