VA UC Upgrade

Hi,

Not sure but this might be helpful to someone, rebooked our flights from 2020 with VA last week for Sept/Oct 2021. At the time of booking I wanted to upgrade to UC could get the return leg at a reasonable price but the outward bound journey was ridiculous money. In the end I reluctantly went for PE for the outward leg of the journey.

I have for the last week been looking at the UC prices for the outward bound leg but to no avail. Today by chance I went into the actual booking itself and saw the upgrade priced at £398/person so I jumped at it, all gone through fine.

Seems like you have to go into the booking to find any of the black Friday deals for those dates because I could not see them anywhere else on VA's website.

Hi how did you do that ...as when I’ve looked at upgrading from economy to premium economy it only lets me bid for an upgrade ...it just shows the upgrade cost to economy delight

Hi,
I went into the booking using my booking ref no. normal route etc, and I like you expected to see just the bid option available. Next to the outbound leg of the flight it said only “£398 to upgrade PE to UC” couldn’t believe my eyes.

Went through the upgrade process paid the extra and was able to select the UC seats that I wanted, just had email confirmation from VA to say transaction has been completed.

That's how I got UC the two times I flew with Virgin to MCO - booked PE and upgraded via the website. 2018 it was just the return flight. Last year it was both ways.

Unfortunately we haven’t seen any of the fantastic upper class deals for our dates. Reading the Dibb it seems ours is the only route and date not included in the sale!

My dates aren’t open yet but after seeing threads on good deals, out of curiosity I looked to see what prices were like around September / October this afternoon. I didn’t see any whiff of a deal either, in fact it was on the high side for the whole two months.

Hi,
I only actually got this price by going into my booking which I made last week today and the UC upgrade price was there next to my PE reservation.

I like you could see no deal whatsoever elsewhere on the VA website.

I presume the £398 was each way so for a return flight it would be circa £800?

In our booking it’s offered us £499 per person just for the return leg to upgrade from Economy Delight. I’d have liked the £950 pp for UC return I saw someone else get. £300 pp for the upgrade would be a lovely deal!
