13 year old swept out to sea

Yesterday as me and my husband were walking along the pier in Porthcawl the coastguard passed us sirens blazing. We walked along to the Lifeboat station and there were loads of people.

A 13 year old boy had been swept out to sea. Its now on national news.

My son who is 12 was in the fair at the time with his friends which we could see from the pier and wasn`t answering his phone

Luckily managed to get hold of him 15 mins later. This child is in my sons school

Please give your kids a hug and a kiss today. For a fleeting second I thought it could have been my son.

They still can`t find the poor boy. I heard that he could have been pushed off the pier by another kid but not sure if that is true.

Its dreadfuly sad news , my thoughts go out to the poor family , this happened the other day to a little girl that had been out swimming , her friend was rescued but sadly she wasnt ,awful that the school holidays brings these terrible accidents , i for one would be paranoid of my kids going on school trips now ( i know neither of these are related to school trips ) my kids are grown up but i know i will worry about my grandchildren , you cant wrap them up in cotton wool but how can you feel safe when this sort of thing keeps happening ?
