Reading the scary numbers on this thread makes me shiver - just in case anyone hasn't considered it I'd advise anyone regularly paying these numbers to get a BA or virgin credit card if you can and use rewards - it really smooths out the highs and lows, and I've not booked a cash fare in years. Availability doesn't seem any worse in 2022 than I'm used to. I book a lot of one ways and short notice flights and it's also good for that.

There are some occasional deals coming up guys as Iv said on some of the other threads make sure you are checking all times of day (I do alot of nights so this is easier for me) and act quickly.

Our custom trip we booked at midnight

LHR-MCO 16/08
MCO-LGW 05/09
7 nights residence Inn SeaWorld

£3588
If I take off the cost of the hotel I reckon we have paid £2800 for flights which includes luggage (2 adults 1 teen 2 kids).
My original budget was £2500 but when I saw the crazy 22 prices I thought we did pretty well.

Agree with this. If you can play around with airports/durations then there are deals to be had.

We booked:

LHR - MIA 17/08
1 day car hire (drop at Hard Rock)
16 days car hire (pick up after universal stay from HRH)
Tampa - LGW 05/09

2 adults, 2 teens £3028. Would rather fly out of Gatwick and into Heathrow (20 mins away) but it was cheaper to do it this way round!

Latest prices are over £600 - not what we are used to paying (BA - but still considerably cheaper than VA). Will be booking tomorrow for release day prices - I'm not seeing any decreases in prices, if they do crop up I can always do the cancel/rebook shimmy)
and booked.

No cheap rates, was the same price as the previous Sat to Sat rate.

This was for a 2 cruise visit so no leeway on dates for us unfortunately.

I think with a return flight they know you be coming back with them 7,14 or 21 days later but with a 1 way flight there a good chance them seats will be empty on the return journey so they charging u twice to make up money lost if them seats can’t be filled.

Just not true, there are plenty of people who go for an odd number of nights, people who go to conferences or on buisn3ss for a few days and people who live in the US and are coming to Europe to visit to fill the seats on odd days.

We've never been for 7, 14, 21 nights. But have done 16, 18, 13 and next year 19. Find this helps with flight prices massively!

Likewise. I don’t know what booking oddities in numbers (or multi city with different arrival and departure points) do, but they certainly seem to knock the price down and that to me, is what matters.

Note that the current BA Book with Confidence only goes out to August 31st 2022.

I booked in the early hours today with the intention of maybe cancelling and rebooking if the prices fall. I won't be able to under this policy now as my flights are September 17th to October 1st.

One to be aware of.

If you have booked with deposit only you could of course if the saving is enough just book again I'm sure you are aware of that but for anyone else who hasn't thought of it deposit only is a great way
