Avoid MCO pick up and save tons!

Just booked 12 days Avis thru Holiday Autos next August pick up Hard Rock Hotel drop off MCO £350 full size inc the insurance upgrade….to pick up from MCO takes it up to £1000…avoid MCO pick up at all costs!

I had a look at that but couldn’t get the car size we wanted for a better price than the one I have booked through Costco. It’s a great deal for the non-SUV cars though.

What's the dates in August? Can't get anything close to that with Holiday Autos for Hard Rock pickup.

19/8 drop off MCO 30/8…each time I went in the price seemed to change. At one point 370 then 15 minutes later 1000 plus then back down again so I just jumped on it as it’s fully refundable….On the same search Hertz were also coming up really low for International Drive pick up but again up to a 1000 odd for MCO pick up……

Same from any airport (we are flying into Tampa) at the moment.

As it stands I'm booking 1 day hire from airport to Orlando (cheaper than taxi/uber), then pick-up another one locally in Orlando for the rest.

Strangely the Orlando to TPA isn't affected by the same price hike, only when coming from an airport.

We've split our car hire in 2

1 - Pick up Miami Airport 17th August
Drop off Hard Rock Hotel 18th August

2 - Pick up Hard Rock Hotel 20th August
Drop off Tampa airport 5th September.

This is with Avis, through a BA fly drive, both Full Size SUV's (Tahoe or similar) and by splitting in to 2 bookings it's nearly £1000 difference!
