Imagineers leaving Disney

No, I’ve not got a downer on Disney, but there does seem some difficult issues being displayed now.

It seems that Disney is moving imagineers from California base and moving their jobs to Florida.

This guy is a big Disney fan, but like others, is questioning some of the recent changes.
He sees the move as being a way of reducing staff without paying redundancy money (something, funnily enough a certain big bank in the U.K. is doing)

Yeah, any credibility WDW News Today died ages ago after the Country Bears debacle.

So WDWNT posted a rumour about the Country Bears show closing. He was adamant that this was correct and it WAS closing. Until Disney Parks Blog corrected him...

WDWNT released stories saying the tiki room was having a moana overlay, then a separate story saying the country bear jamboree was closing. Disney shut down the tiki room rumour in an offbeat way, and so WDWNT accused them of acting unprofessionally in very forthright fashion. Only for Disney to then confirm the rumours about the country bear jamboree were also untrue. Net result is WDWNT accused Disney of acting unprofessionally when they published two false rumours.

Whilst WDWNT does get some rumours right, any rumours anyone publishes about Disney always need to have a caution against them. Looks like they’ve already changed it to say it’s only one person moving, and after all it’s not unreasonable to think some people may chose not to go if the company moves to a different part of the country

The costs of employing staff and the living costs for those staff are much cheaper in Florida than California.

I don't think they need a ulterior motive to justify the move.
