Anyone a whiz on Excel

Hi All,

Does anyone know how I can set up a conditional format for a spreadsheet I have with dates in that I need it to go red within 30 day of the date in the box?

Basically I have a spread sheet of when a task is due which could be today or any date in the next 3 months but when I open the spreadsheet I want it to show in red anything that is due to expire in 30 days?

Thanks in advance

The problem with that it there's no option for "within the next 30 days" to select - at least there isn't on my version of Excel. There's options for "This Month" and "Next Month" but those aren't the same thing.

The way I'd do it is as follows:
(Disclaimer: this is probably not the best way to do this)

1. Select the cells with the dates in that you want to perform conditional formatting on.

2. Click on "Conditional Formatting" in the toolbar, then "Highlight Cell Rules", and then "Less Than...".

3. In the pop-up dialog box, enter "=TODAY()+31" (without the quotes). Select the type of formatting you want - eg. Light Red Fill. Click "OK".

4. With the same cells still selected, click on "Conditional Formatting", then "Highlight Cell Rules", then "Greater Than...".

5. In the pop-up dialog box, enter "=TODAY()+30" (without the quotes). Select the type of formatting you want - eg. Green Fill. Click "OK".

6. Days equal to or less than 30 days from today's date will be coloured red. Days further away than 30 days from today's date will be coloured green. Remember to put the equals sign before TODAY().

Hope that helps and is what the OP wanted/meant.
