Make mine every year. I can't stand marzipan but my Dad likes it so I have to do a half and half job. My fiancee doesn't like Christmas cake at all.

I hadn’t made one for years but our local Unsealed ( eco friendly weigh & save type shop) were selling cake kits so I’ve bought one for me and posted one to DD and we have both made them
You had to provide eggs, butter a lemon and what you wanted to decorate it with   They also provided a jar of all the ready cut candid fruit glacé cherries, apricots and cranberries |

Just finished putting the marzipan layer on mine, always make one every year
