Fish, chicken and eggs I stick to date, prepared veg etc I might go one day over the rest I sniff and/or lick first but to be honest not much lasts that long in my larder

I don't believe clotted cream has a use by date as no one has ever allowed it to go uneaten that long

I cut the mould off cheese, it's perfectly fine, too many fussy pups out there.
We had to do that when we were kids, it's perfectly safe.

I’d smell chicken etc and use if smells ok. I don’t really check the dates that much

Tinned food never goes off. Don't fall for the dates on tins.
Steak is at its best when it's turned colour... I could go on all night sorry folks 😆

My mum used to work in care and the man she cared for had his own house. Another woman she worked with one day decided to “clear out” the freezer, while everyone was out. The other staff and my mum came back to the house to find this woman had thrown everything in the bin that was past it’s use by date...

I detest waste, some people just throw everything out, I'd rather give it away than do that
