I’ve been checking daily for car hire prices.

I pre booked ours with Andy, 3 weeks in October, £611 for intermediate SUV with Alamo Max so we actually get a free upgrade to a standard SUV.

I checked yesterday morning and the prices had shot up to £850+

I don’t know what is going on with the prices at the moment but I’ve found in the past that when the prices usually go sky high, they do seem to drop again after a while.

Mike. Car rentals work on 'live pricing' therefore political issues, currency fluctuations, demand, vehicle glut/shortages, flight availability etc etc all influence the pricing model

Optimism is creeping back into travel as the vaccines are coming. That leads to more people making bookings thus rising prices.

The motto is never panic, book early and change often. That has put me in a good position since 1976 on rentals!
