How does Epic change itineraries?

Now we’re seeing one day epic tickets, many are planning on at least two days in the park.

How is everyone fitting this in to a 14 day trip?

Universal used to take up a couple of days with the most standard being 2 or 3 days max to hit up Islands/Studios/Volcano.

If you had 2 days at Epic, that’s now 5 days of a 14 day holiday.

It doesn't change our itinerary as we aren't doing Epic this year.

However, lots of people just go to Universal and don't bother with Disney. Some people prefer Disney, others prefer Universal. So I guess for those that favour Universal then this is a win for them.

End of Feb 2026 Mrs YT and I are going to Vero, we will then have maybe 5 nights in Orlando in our DVC. Mrs YT has been put off parks for life by Disney and the Genie, so I’ll have 1 day at Epic on my own, so I’m glad the 1 day tickets have been released.
We don’t go to Disney Parks any more following two really bad experiences post Covid with Genie+ or whatever they are calling it today. Was ripped off terribly with it Xmas 2023, very nasty taste in the mouth when I’d paid all that money and could not book rides. Maybe we will go back when they open some fantastic new attractions, but it was getting same old anyway. Resorts we love though.

We would currently split a 14 night trip into 4 nights Universal and 10 nights Disney.

As with you 1 day at each Universal park is plenty to get everything done.

If sticking with 14 nights then likely we would book 4 nights at HRH, 1 night at Helios to enjoy a couple of days at Epic then move onto Disney for 9 nights.

We are not going until end 2026, hopefully over Christmas so this will be the first time in the new park.

Depending on how long we go for on this trip we may just do Helios / Epic only and skip the other Universal parks.

However now the eldest is almost 8 this may change as he is getting more and more into his coasters and is desperate to ride Velocicoaster (will be too small for it this April).

Disney parks will still remain the majority of our time at Orlando but great to have new options!

Our provisional plan is - 14 day tickets with 1 day in EU.

1 night at Helios to get the early entry and exclusive park entrance - however given that the only land open will be SNW, I may cancel that, if Helios doesn't give us any real advantage over any other park

1 night at a premier hotel to get 2 days express passes and kick the a**e out of US/IOA (this is what we normally do).

Probably will go to the parks once or twice more to get another go on somethings/soak up the ambience/pick up any less busy rides that we didn't go on because we concentrated express pass time on the high value rides.

We're going in 2026 and although we always go for 3 weeks our loose plan is to not purchase DC/SW/AQ/BG and hammer (maybe 4/5 days) Epic.

In the future, it'll make a Universal only holiday easier to plan with more to do.

We've mulled over only doing Universal in the past, but always ended up going to Disney too.

Who knows what the future holds!

We had already switched to Universal Only trips as our Daughter became an adult.
Going forward we will be doing 14 nights on site and try to coincide trips with HHN.
Waiting for 2026 so we can do Epic with no limits

Well my return flight is on the day that epic opens so fingers crossed that any preview tickets going around in the 2 weeks prior drop in my lap. We’re doing 4 nights Orlando endless summer 10 nights Disney think next time we go (probably 2027) we will up it to 6 universal 8 Disney.

We went back and forth with Epic but also decided against doing it this year. The potential for teething problems, being horrifically busy and even the idea of being turned away at the gate has put us off.

NEXT time we go to Orlando we will probably do the holiday the same way as usual, just adding in a day at Epic. From there, our experiences at Universal vs Disney may alter any future Orlando holidays.
