Tokyo Disneyland in September

We are thinking about Tokyo as one of our possible holidays next year, hopefully we make it one one of the options. I had been thinking of September but last night I looked at the climate chart and it looks like on average it is very wet in Tokyo.

Has anybody been at this time and was it a wash out? Or was the rain perhaps a torrential downpour but then cleared up - asking hopefully?

Only done May sorry but Google does not give an answer that makes me think it is very ... dry...

Whilst temperatures in Tokyo, Kyoto and across most of Honshu remain high in September (avg temp: 23-25°C), days can be punctuated with intense periods of rainfall driven by the typhoons that hit the southern islands during the month. Infact, September is the wettest month of the year in Tokyo.

Yes, as I mentioned the climate chart I looked up suggests very wet. My clutching at straws was that maybe it would be a half hour of an absolute deluge but then dries up for the rest of the day. Might be back to the drawing board as September fits in best with DH work next year.

I went to Tokyo in early October in 2015 (if I don't remember wrongly), which isn't September but isn't too far off from September. Was there for 5 days and we had absolutely glorious, perfect weather - blue skies, not too hot and not too cold.

This is one of the photos I took at DisneySea and was the sort of weather we had most of the trip.

We might have gotten incredibly lucky with the weather, though...

Not been yet, but May and November seem best. We hope to go in November.

TDR Explorer’s blog has an article on when to visit.
