Christmas gift fails !

I wondered if anyone had any Christmas gift fails !

My husband really isn’t very good at gifts. I tell him every year to not buy anything. Even my son and daughter always say they wonder what dads “novelty” gifts will be !

This year I received a 1970’s style retro teasmade, a set of cutlery and a jigsaw of a beach. What the... I don’t know what he’s thinking of ! Now it’s hunt the receipt !

Am I really ungrateful ? Was anyone else given anything worse !

Did he give any reasons? Is the jigsaw an indication of a surprise holiday?

This year my hubby and I both bought each other the new Richard Osman book... caused a well needed giggle.

I hope it isn’t a surprise holiday. His holiday ideas are even worse. He would choose walking in the moors somewhere cold. He doesn’t like going abroad but does give in because the rest of us want to.

We are both back in work today and I am a bit miffed at not getting my cup of tea brought up to me. Probably because I refused to unbox the teasmade !

We were actually saying the other day we are surprised there's never been an updated teasmaid. I would love a cup of tea without having to get out of bed! The only one I've thought about is milk, they would need someway of keeping the milk cold as don't fancy milk sat out for 7 hours or so!

Speaking of present fails. My dh is a funny one. He often spends a small fortune one me but on things I just wouldn't choose! He once clearly did a sweep of Costco and bought me random things.
His most famous one which to be fair he thought he had done amazing with was a sewing machine! I know some people would love this but not for me. I had happened to mention i might make some curtains. I would have borrowed my mums sewing machine though!
This year he's bought me a huge bottle of Coco Mademoiselle, again a lovely present. However i hardly use perfume and have lots, including half a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle. He bought me some Jimmy Choo for my birthday, again I already had half a bottle!

I’ve just had the same conversation with DH. I want a cup of tea but it’s too cold to get up and out of bed.🥶

Poor DS12 didn’t get his PS5 that he asked for (wondering if there will ever be any stock) and just to rub salt in the wounds DH picked up the wrong Spider-Man game he’d asked for. It was a game he already had. Bless him, he just opened it and accepted it without telling me as he didn’t want to hurt my feelings. I felt so bad.🙈

Aww bless him. At least he is at the age to understand about PS5. I assume the game can be swapped as well.
