Viva Espana! Minus Day 1

After 3 WDW cancelled trips, and our next one not until May 2022 we decided to book a week trip to mainland Spain. I have never been to the mainland before so a new experience awaits!

Trip is just me, (54) and my hubby (52). This is our first trip abroad on our own in 25 years

We aren’t beach people so our trip is based inland Andalusia. We have hired a car for the week, and are staying in a villa near Alora.

Flights into Malaga airport from Newcastle tomorrow morning. The COVID test planning and locator forms have been the most stressful part, though we are all set up now. I have QR codes coming out of my ears!

Our flight is really early and the two main roads en route to the airport are closed overnight, so hubby has set a planned route for us, but we are allowing bit extra time to get there now. We pondered staying at a PE at the airport but it was pricey and I will probably sleep better in my own bed anyway

We’ve booked a hire car with Malagarcar on recommendation of fellow dibber, and so far contact has been great. Hubby wanted an automatic car so he can concentrate on driving, we also have GPS even though he has a competent navigator alongside him

We have prebooked the Alhambra but nothing else. We want to have an easy going trip, but keen to see the White Villages, Ronda and possibly Seville.
