Spending time at other Disney resorts?
We are staying at AKL and the Polynesian for a few nights. The way our itinerary is looking we are going to have a day and a half at HS, so am looking at something to do in the afternoon of our second HS day. Are there any other resorts worth visiting? Would you do this as part of your trip? We have a 5 year old son if that makes a difference.

Visiting other resorts is great fun.
With a 5 year old I would head over to Wilderness Lodge and the campsite. They have some brilliant playgrounds and you can go and see the horses. Lots of space for a small boy to run around. The other option is to take the Skyliner to the Art of Animation and take photos with all of the Cars characters there (done this as well). If you go to Port Orleans, Old Key West or Saratoga Springs you can get the boat across to Disney Springs (or walk from Saratoga). There are also bikes and carriage rides available for extra charges (as on the Broadwalk). |

We've never spent a single night in a WDW hotel but every year we park up at DS and catch the free WDW transport (Bus, boat or monorail) and do a tour of their resorts.
Long time since we had a 5 year old (about 35 years actually ) but he may enjoy walking round Art of Animation which is themed to some films. You can't use any pools though if you're not resident. Mick PS Forgot about Animal Kingdom

Just be aware WL & Fort Wilderness are not close together, it's still a boat trip between the 2, without the pool use I'd choose the Campsite over WL, as WL isn't going to be any different to AKL. If I was at HS I'd head to the Boardwalk or Fantasia golf

The skyliner to Art of Animation would be a great idea.

From HS I would take the Skyliner and visit each of the resorts on it.

You could catch the friendship boat from HS and go and have a look around BC YC and the Boardwalk

We did this last December. We had one night at AOA as we were going to MVMCP and spent the day using all the Skyliner lines and visiting the resorts.
