Luckily our plumber came out on the same day to temporarily fix the leak & fitted a new toilet 3 days later!

Internet came up the next day & we got a Tesco so although it was an annoying start we were sorted quickly.

Update incoming

Hey all, this is a kind of pre-holiday update as we were in town on the Saturday so popped for food.

Saturday 5th October

So we have a Brewdog about 5 minutes from our flat and ended up in there.

Brewdog

Arron grabbed a pint of Punk IPA.

I didn't get a drink, Punk is always pretty nice and fruity though!

I went to order food but also grabbed another Punk.

They warned us the food might take a while which was fine.

Arron got the Buffalo chicken burger "buttermilk fried chicken, hot sauce & honey glaze, gorgonzola sauce & baby gem in a sesame and poppy seeded brioche bun" which was £9.50.

He really enjoyed this, as the chicken was spicy but is lighter than a burger.

I didn't fancy a main so grabbed the Mac 'n cheese and a larger portion of sweet potato fries.

This was all so nice, the mac in Brewdog is a huge portion for £4 with little crispy onion bits on it & there were loads of fries.

I paid £25.70 for this and we headed home afterwards.

Nothing like a meal the day before you travel 😊 I can't believe that max n cheese was only £4! I love crispy onions too so I'd love that dish... Off to see if there's a brewdog pub near me 👀 xx

I have now uploaded all the photos so should be updating pretty regularly from here on in!

Sunday 6th October

Today was Pre Travel day, so we were up relatively early to shower and get ready before heading out to breakfast. We had decided where we would eat a while ago.

Again, like Brewdog this is about 5 minutes from our flat.

Gail's

We got here around 8:40 ordered and sat down at the window table.

Drinks came first, I ordered a regular hot chocolate and Arron an iced oat milk latte.

Arron was testing his food filter on his phone here! This is the only photo of my hot chocolate too!

The hot chocolate in Gail's is amazing, really reminds me of the cocoa from The Santa Clause.

For food we chose very different things

Mine is a cinnamon bun and a blueberry muffin. They were both really yummy. The blueberry has crumble bits on it too and the bun got really soft further in.

Arron ordered smoked salmon with eggs.

This was great and the bread was really dense sourdough. Very interesting!

We paid £21.45 when ordering so were able to leave whenever we wanted to.

Arron went to do a few bits at work while I headed home.

Coach snacks

Because of our large breakfast we only grabbed little things for the coach today.

We boarded around 2:10.

Just Randoms and water for the hour journey

Nicolas Culpeper

Executive decision was to wait in the airport until Twilight check in opened so we grabbed drinks here.

Arron got a Becks and me a lemonade for £8.35.

And then Arron got another Punk IPA for £5.60

They were showing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in here which was nice to start our holiday

After Twilight check in and heading to our hotel briefly we chose to head over to the South terminal for dinner.

The Beehive

We must've been here around 6:30 and it was so much quieter than expected. So we managed to choose a table and peruse the menu.

We started with a Pepsi max and a Punk.

I chose the Wetherspoons staple of lasagne.

It was nice and very warming. Can't really go too wrong!

Arron went a bit leftfield with a seafood risotto.

He said it was nice, but there was very little of it and that was disappointing as he was still hungry and looking at my lasagne longingly!

So he then ordered the soup of the day too

The soup was broccoli and blue cheese and was actually very nice!

I don;t have the receipt for these on my phone but think it must've been £30 altogether.

We left the pub and popped to Marks and Spencer with my £25 giftcard. I got some chocoate caramel 'presents', we bought 2 bags of Percvy Pigs(*fizzy tails and Halloween) and 4 beers.

I think this used about £13 of said giftcard. We then headed back to the hotel for 8pm.

And that was it for pre travel day
