Day 6 - SATs are not good. Nor is that day in Vegas.

Grrrr it is so busy in the resorts at the weekend, especially in February.

We had another nice cheap Walmart breakfast, eaten in the car park whilst we watch planes landing at the end of it. Literally.

This time we were offered the drumsticks to try before we bought. In theory you could eat enough to not have to buy anything, by UK standards of eating of course.

Yummy.

I was famished by the time Mel got up and got out of bed. It is an interesting twist that on holiday I am up on average 2 hours earlier than her but at home the reverse is true.

Spending the time working on video techniques and workflow was well spent, and I cleaned out the camera of footage. It amused me that I shot a GB worth of my pocket, but Rich beat me good with 4GB of a footwell.

But I digress.

Last night we had headed off to Freemont Street in Downtown Las Vegas.

LG has installed a giant screen over the top of the original and famous Vegas landmarks such as the Golden Goose, Golden Nugget and 4 Queens casinos and mens clubs.

That is not as bad as the placement of the speakers for the show they put on the screen, which obscure said famous icons from almost every conceivable angle!

(Warning: This is 200mb of HD 1280x720/25p footage.

Mel, bless her, drove up and down the strip for me so I could take footage of the various hotel neon icons for a later montage. We then headed back to our old stomping ground, The Mirage, for tea.

DOLLAR BAD - DOLLAR BAD

Mel headed down to the Dollar desk to extend our car rental, as we reckoned it was cheaper than taxi's for what we wished to do for the next few days.

"I want to extend my hire," she stated.

"Well, in that case you need to pay a late return charge for the car of $54.95"

"But I can return the car right now? It's not due for another 5 hours! How can it be late yet?"

"Ah ok, we are very busy though for the next two days, as we have a magic convention."

"...and..."

"So it will be more expensive."

"Can't I have a week rate?"

"Sure! That will mean the 6th and 7th days are free."

Pfft.

Nothing surprises me in Vegas. When we went to pick our hire car up, there was lots of hmmm-ing and hrrrr-ing, phone calls, till eventually they admitted they didn't have our 'economy' car we had booked, so would we accept either a convertible or suv with their apology's.
Would we... like a shot, two females on the loose in a convertible
