Excited about Disney

California Dreamin

Hi,

Welcome my pre-trip report. I’ve never completed a full trip report despite a couple of attempts. Fingers crossed this will be more successful.

The cast is as follows:

Me: Jennifer aged 42. Teacher and Disney fan. School holidays mean an Easter trip.
DH : Chris aged 44 just before the trip. Land surveyor and fan of the countryside and walking.
DS1: Thomas aged 10. Gentle quiet little boy. Loves Harry Potter and Everton and FIFA.
DS2: Ben aged 7. Crazy wild child lives and breathes playing football and playing Fortnite.

The plan: I was desperate to visit California again after our amazing honeymoon in 2005. We have had quite a few trips to the USA with the boys since 2011 when we first took Thomas to Disney-world. Last summer we had a brilliant trip to Key West and the Gulf of Mexico. Totally chilled but no Disney.

May 2018 I found some flights from Man-Lax via Heathrow with BA. They were a great price. We do only arrive in LAX at 6pm but we’ll manage.

Saturday 6th April Man-Lax drive to Anaheim Best Western.

Sunday 7th April- Recover visit Griffith Park observatory and Hollywood sign. Downtown Disney/Cheesecake Factory

Monday 8th April- Disneyland
Tuesday 9th April - California Adventure
Wednesday 10th - Knotts Berry Farm
Thursday 11th - leave Anaheim and drive to Palm Springs and go on the aerial tramway
Friday 12th - Early start long 7 hour drive to Grand Canyon. See sunset
Saturday and Sunday - Grand Canyon. We intend to see sunrise, go on tour buses and join in ranger programmes. We are staying in Tusayan.
Monday- Early start and drive to San Diego. We are staying at the BW Island Palms based on trip reports it sounds great. In San Diego we hope to go to La Jolla and other beaches. Visit Balboa park, USS Midway, the Coronado hotel and other key sights.
We fly home on Good Friday at 9pm.

I’ve booked all hotels on Booking.com but that’s is all really. I’m looking for the best price for Disney tickets at present so any ideas would great.

Thanks for reading Jennifer and crew
