New York - early Jan
Friends fancy going to NYC on 1 Jan for 5 nights and have invited me to go. We looked at leaving 29-31 Dec but it is pretty expensive. Have made them aware it could be brutally cold but, as I love NYC, said I quite fancy it.
One of the reasons for one of my friends going at that time is to catch some of the sights in holiday decorations etc. Does anyone know if they still have decorations, lights etc up for even the first few days in Jan? |

The Rockefeller tree will be up until 6/7th January. The ice rinks at Rockefeller and Central Park will still be there. Most of the lights will still be up too.

We've been a couple of times at this time of year. I like it - I think NYC suits the cold somehow.
We missed the Rockerfeller tree last time - I think we arrived on the 8th or 9th and it had gone the day before. DW was gutted. If you go the first few days you should be fine.
