I’ve just ordered a new Skoda Kodiaq but was also considering a Skoda Karoq. They are both suv type cars. My husband is a salesman for bmw (so knows what he is talking about) and he says these both always get really good write ups and are reasonably priced. I think the Ateca mentioned above is the Seat version of the Karoq (they are the same car underneath)

We have just bought a Kia Sportage and we both love it - finding new buttons everyday Both wish we had bought that instead of Duster 3 years ago but we hadnt discovered leasing then

We love our Sportage - we couldnt spell or pronounce the Quashqui anyway

If you have spent the $1k ?
I would take your Mondeo elsewhere for another opinion.

If I could delay what needs doing or get cost down to say £500 or so I would still keep it.

To give you an idea, we took our second oldest Volvo V70 which we had from new to our local Volvo specialist because it made a noise from the back wheels somewhere.
It's a 59 plate so when they told us it needed two front springs, two rear springs, two rear brake discs, two rear brake calipers, new brake pads all around, and two front tyres, costing over £2k, we considered trading it in, despite being unmarked.

We took to a different garage.
All it actually needed was new brake pads at the back. On one side the pad material had separated from the pad, so the metal pad was scraping the disc.

That was two years ago, it's been fine since, sailing through two MOTs with no advisories.

We have a new to us 65 plate Range Rover Evoque in black. We love it - not the cheapest but you are paying for the build quality - same as with Audi, VW etc. I certainly feel more safe in it than any other car I've owned!

You obviously love your mondeo and I can’t blame you , they’re great cars. My dh has had about 3/4 as company cars but he left the scheme last year and we got a focus. Now, it’s still a great car but he’s going to change back to a Mondeo again next year so he has started to look at what he can get. Not going for brand new but maybe just a couple of years old and there are some great ones out there. Maybe worth considering.

I have an AWD Ford Kuga which I love but it’s getting on a bit now and the repairs are not cheap. It’s had two new filter things (not sure what they’re called) as it doesn’t do enough motorway runs and the AWD went last year and needed fixing. I do love it though and plan to keep it until it doesn’t run.

I have a 09 plate mondeo and it runs fine - no problems, but I have been looking at newer cars, there are some which have a "better " badge for roughly the same price but maybe a year or two older that I really like , Jag XE and Merc c class but when you look at the boots you'd be lucky to get two suitcases in, with the mondeo I can take the back shelf off and get four, obviously this is for holiday and find it has more space than the suvs in Orlando unless I put the seats down

I had one of the last generation of Skoda Superbs from new, was an excellent car - especially for comfortable motorway cruising. A ridiculous amount of legroom front and back and loads of kit for the price

Ive recently got a Qashqai and I absolutely love it so far, its a fab on the motorway (got a turbo ) and its very spacious.
Its a 1.3 Dig T Acenta Premium with lots of added extras and its cheaper to insure then my 1litre focus.
