I dont a delay for a delivery but I object to a company missing a time that they gave.
If you put it on a van in the morning then it should be delivered as promised and not returned yo the depot.

The last delivery I had apparently tried to deliver but I wasnt in - hmm I am working from home and can see the road from the office plus my cats always alert me to anyone walking to the door

My yodel ordered turned up so the driver obviously didn't deliver it in the morning like they claimed. The door when at 10.30pm and I was ready for bed so nearly didn't answer it
I got a terse "There's your parcel" yelled at me from the end of the path and he stormed off
It was partially open and you could tell someone had rummaged through it as wrapping was torn off items ect but it was all there.

I’m honestly impressed at how well deliveries have worked , yes even Hermes here in Kent . I’ve pretty much sworn off shops this year (Husband does the supermarket mostly and I tend to use home delivery for that if he can’t)
Amazon have been brilliant too and RM. Everything (and I’ve ordered loads) has been spot on with delivery times .
I even had a complaint at work yesterday that a replacement box ordered at 5pm the day before had “been delivered too quickly” when it turned up the next morning ! (No I didn’t understand it either ) .
The only delivery issue I’ve had this year was with ASDA who are normally great , when they decided to ignore that I’d paid for bags , delivered without them and the crates had clearly been left outside in the pouring rain as all three were soaked through to the point all the cardboard was disintegrating . Their CS wanted me to pack it all up again so they could collect and replace ... um no I don’t have the time or inclination and eventually refunded everything soaked (but I kept it) and gave me a voucher .Silly thing was had they just put into bags as ordered in the first place it wouldn’t have been an issue it getting wet.

Whilst its poor to say they have delivered and they haven't, the sheer amount of deliveries across all of the delivery companies at the moment must be astronomical.
We have deliveries probably three times a week for work, home and for my parents The lady who is self employed and delivers in my road of 120 houses was delivering 4000 parcels a month before the second lockdown

I had an issue with a delivery company two weeks ago and as I have the app and they had taken a photo of the parcel we found it within ten minutes, the company were excellent in getting back to me to apologise within 20 minutes

I have the app for Yodel, DPD, UPS, Hermes and Royal Mail and have only had some minor hiccups with deliveries later than expected the same day , I appreciate we all have different experiences but Delivery drivers and companies are under immense pressure at the moment and even worse coming up to Black friday

Under normal circumstances I would probably agree but these are not normal circumstances and I think we all need to be a little understanding

I have a lot of stuff delivered and everything has arrived when it should have which is miraculous given the time of year.

If you speak to the drivers, they're inundated with goods to deliver, they've never seen anything like it. Records are being broken daily with deliveries.

Last week the postman told me that the track and trace deliveries matched the record for the whole of last year in one day!. The post office is short-staffed (Covid) and they won't take temporary staff on, they're having to work longer hours to deal with all. My postie looks shattered day on day, I'm doubling his tip this year.

This is South Wales.

Apparently all the delivery firms and Royal Mail have hired out all the hire vans all over the country to deal with the huge demand.

I'm talking about normal times and now.

But when they say they tried to deliver something but clearly didnt is just a lie.
Dont put so many deliveries on the van in the first place as this is why we hear that they are just dumped on the side of a lane.

My DD ordered something from Costco which was to be delivered by Parcel Force on a specific day - when she was in. She stayed in all day then got an email to say they had run out of time and were returning it to Costco. They told Costco she had refused the delivery. Luckily she had the email so didn’t have to pay postage again.

Very impressed with a company called Homefront who sell electric blankets. I ordered a new one Wednesday evening and it was delivered by DHL this afternoon so well done to both.
